Yves Coallier, B.A.A. Fin. Int'l, M.Fisc.

Following studies in law and a bachelor's degree in international finance from the University of Sherbrooke and from E.S.C. de Nice (CERAM Sophia-Antipolis, France), Mr. Coallier has completed a master's degree in taxation with honours at the University of Sherbrooke. His master's thesis, for which he received great honours from the APFF, initiated a series of publications and conferences as an American and international tax specialist.

His contribution to numerous boards has earned him, among other things, an award and special honours from his alma mater. He has also received the Hommage bénévolat-Québec award from the Quebec government for his outstanding implication and volunteer work.

Mr. Coallier acquired valuable professional experience while working in the finance and tax department of the largest food multinational, he then moved on consulting in one of the major accounting firm to finally found his own consulting firm in 2000, which became GCI Tandem inc., collaborating closely with the firm Gallant & Associés for which he is an expert consultant working with corporations of all sizes and individuals faced with crossborder issues. He also acts as an outsourcing international tax advisor for many accounting and legal firms. His expertise has been recognized by his peers as he has been named as a recommended tax expert by the tax publisher Carswell.

He is an active member of the APFF and the IFA, he chaired the Young Tax Practionners committee at his debut (which has become the comité de la Relève) and he is actively involved in the Stratège committee and the Colloques committee. More recently he has collaborated with the annual congress committee, with the strategic group of the Communication and Development committee and, at the same time, has presided the international forum committee where he has participated as an author, speaker, teacher and director of thesis relating to US and international taxation. He was also a participant to the "Recognized Tax Experts Group" which has collaborated with the Department of Finance to put in place the Canadian fiscal policy regarding non-resident trusts and foreign investment entities.
